Dave Williams | The Eiger and Swiss Alps

The Eiger and Swiss Alps

Photographed from the walk up to Murren looking over to the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau. This was a summers day yet we still have a lot of snow and ice at this altitude. Quite simply a breathtaking view of the Swiss Alps in all their glory.

Up high on the Aguille du Midi _ French Alps

After taking the cable car up the Aguile du Midi mountain I managed to take this photograph from where the mountaineers step out on the Ice to commence their climb either along the ridges or up Mont Blanc. The Aiguille du Midi is a 3,842-metre-tall mountain in the Mont Blanc massif within the French Alps. It is a popular tourist destination and can be directly accessed by cable car from Chamonix that takes visitors close to Mont Blanc.

Pico do Arieiro to Funchal in Madeira, the start of the trail

The start of the trail from Pico do Arieiro to Funchal in Madeira. Pico do Arieiro, at 1,818 m high, is Madeira Island's third highest peak. Most days, visitors can stand and look down on the clouds. The air is fresh and clear and the sun is very bright. On a clear day it is possible to see the neighbouring island of Porto Santo, 30 miles to the northeast. An incredible island with so much to offer.
