I have been taking photographs for nearly 65 years now. My grandfather gave me my first camera, a Box Brownie, when I was aged 8. My fascination with photography has never stopped. When I graduated from university, I left American and moved to Europe. I found a career path that has allowed me to live and work in a number of diverse locations in the world. This includes, a number of European countries. Also far east countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei. I finally settled in the UK and in 2006 took early retirment. No sooner had I taken early retirment than world travel started again. My travels have included road trips, long holidays and cruising on the smaller ships. During the recent pandemic, I have used the "stay at home time" to improve my post editing skills and am very happy with the results. I am always awed at the ability of the world to provide, beauty, charm and intrigue. I hope my photography might convey that feeling to others.

Colchester Zoo
During this pandemic and post pandemic time, places like Colchester Zoo have seen a drop in the charitable contributions they have been able to raise. As a large well known retailer says, "Every Little Helps", so I am donating 100% of the commission from this album to Colchester Zoo's Charity "Action for the Wild". I hope these photos may entice you to visit the zoo and see the work that they do, not only here, but also at their location in Africa. Be assured that a visit to the zoo is not only for the children, but adults as well. I challenge anyone to visit them and not come away smiling.
Railways
Railway photography from around the world. Here is a collection of some of the best railway photos that my late brother-in-law, Peter I Paton, along with a selection of mine as well. Peter's photos date from the early 1950's until his untimely death in 2002. He was a wonderful photographer and it is an honor to share these images with you. I have undertaken all of the post processing and believe Peter would have approved.
The Beauty of East Anglia
East Anglia is an area of charm and beauty. During lockdown, with limited travel allowed, I had the opportunity to re-explore East Anglia. In my quest for images, I had gone further afield for "stunning" subjects. I had forgotten just how full of beauty East Anglia is. This album shares my rediscovered love of East Anglia
