French Grunts Fish Sheltering at Thunderdome
This picture shows a school of French Grunts sheltering at a popular dive site called Thunderdome off the Bahaman islands of Turks and Caicos. French Grunts (Haemulon flavolineatum) are yellow fish with horizontal silver stripes running the length of the body and diagonally-oriented stripes below the lateral line of the body. They are found in the Caribbean Ocean and like to travels in schools. The average size of an adult specimen is 6 to 10 inches.
