In June 2017, I went into the City of Sydney to view firsthand the spectacular VIVID SYDNEY, a festival of light, music and ideas. This image is one of my long exposure photographs of the Sydney Harbour Bridge illuminated with purple light, reflecting the colors on the water of Sydney Harbour. The colors of the bridge were continually changing. [From Wikipedia] The Sydney Harbour Bridge is a steel through arch bridge across Sydney Harbour that carries rail, vehicular, bicycle and pedestrian traffic between the Sydney central business district (CBD) and the North Shore. The dramatic view of the bridge, the harbour, and the nearby Sydney Opera House is an iconic image of Sydney, New South Wales, and Australia. The bridge is nicknamed The Coathanger because of its arch-based design.

Bright Colorful Street Scene

A true to life night photographic image during the Vivid Sydney Festival 2018 captured in George Street Sydney. The building on the right is the Sydney Overseas Passenger Terminal for arrivals and departures of cruise ships. Middle right is a globe of the Earth created from NASA's imagery of the Earth's surface. Middle left is a partial view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge in purple. The lights, colors and activity here during Vivid Sydney make for some spectacular views with lots of action, music and excitement. Can you see the human ghosts here! This is due to the long exposure photography necessary to capture night images... anything moving will look like a ghost or disappear completely if they are moving quickly enough.

Kaye Menner | Total Lunar Eclipse Blood Moon Sydney 26May2021

Total Lunar Eclipse Blood Moon Sydney 26May2021

My photography of the Total lunar eclipse, blood moon / super moon visible from Sydney, New South Wales, Australia on 26th May 2021. ** The moon rose in the East (bottom right corner) and proceeded in a westerly direction. A total lunar eclipse occurred on 26 May 2021. A lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon moves into the Earth's shadow. This can occur only when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are exactly or very closely aligned with Earth between the other two, which can only happen at a full moon. The eclipsed moon appeared as a faint red disk in the sky due to a small amount of light being refracted through the earth's atmosphere; this appearance gives a lunar eclipse hence its nickname of a Blood Moon.
