Kaye Menner | Will You Marry Me ?

Will You Marry Me ?

A very red rooster and a speckled hen living on a farm in New South Wales, Australia. The rooster's feathers were a lovely dark rich red and had a beautiful shine as if he conditioned them with hair conditioner. I loved the speckled hen with all the texture and varying colors in her feathers. I couldn't resist adding the speech bubble with the hen asking the rooster - Will You Marry Me? There were numerous other hens that lived on the same property and I felt this one was jealous! Just adds a bit of comedy to this chicken portrait. I would like to give credit to Jai Johnson for the wonderful texture overlay used in the background. For more of her beautiful textures, please visit - jaiart.com/thedailytexture

Kaye Menner | Emus in the Wild

Emus in the Wild

Emus in the wild I captured in outback Australia, New South Wales near Broken Hill. For some reason they like to stroll the dirt roads, but once they hear a car, they take off making photography more difficult. But so great to see them in their natural environment.

Kaye Menner | Shag on a Rock

Shag on a Rock

I spotted this shag on a big rock in the distance. He looked tiny against such a big rock but looked happy there basking in the sun overlooking the ocean. I captured this image during our recent stay at the caravan park in Port Elliot, Adelaide, South Australia. It was such a lovely place with beautiful beach and lovely colors. Port Elliot is a town in South Australia towards the eastern end of the south coast of the Fleurieu Peninsula. It is situated on the sheltered Horseshoe Bay, a small bay off the much larger Encounter Bay. Pullen Island lies outside the mouth of the bay. At the 2006 census, Port Elliot had a population of 1,754, although this section of the coast is now built up almost all the way from Goolwa to Victor Harbor.
