Often called one of the prettiest scenes in the Peak District, Peakshole Water is a small stream in the village of Castleton that flows through a line of beautiful, ancient cottages. The stream originates in Peak Cavern, part of the limestone cliffs that tower over the cottages and known locally as the Devil's Arse!
A steep climb up the Cotswold Way from the village of Broadway leads to Broadway Tower, the brainchild of Capability Brown. It can be seen for miles across the Worcestershire countryside, serving at one time as a beacon hill visible from Worcester.
A black and white rendition of the iconic view of Knaresborough viaduct and the River Nidd as viewed from the Castle Gardens, a favourite childhood haunt of mine. Yorkshire-born writer, J. B. Priestley, was in admiration of how the river reflected the viaduct and said that it "added a double beauty to the scene".
