Wreathed in low lying clouds lit up by the rays of the setting sun the high peaks of Arran soar heavenwards above the neighbouring island of Cumbrae in the Firth of Clyde on a glorious autumn evening. Known locally as the Sleeping Warrior they dominate the landscape of the Ayrshire coast in Scotland and here offer spectacular views to the traveller driving down the Haylie Brae in to the seaside town of Largs.

The iconic Black Rock Cottage in the shadow of Buachaille Etive Mor on a moonlit evening in Glen Coe on Rannoch Moor in the Scottish Highlands. The memory of the infamous Glen Coe massacre in 1692 when members of the murderous clan Macdonald attacked their invited guests the Campbells lives on in this grim and forbidding but spectacularly scenic corner of Scotland.
