The Hisehope Reservoir, in County Durham, is the smallest of three reservoirs that are located on the area of Mugleswick, Stanhope and Edmundbyers Commons, bordering onto the North Pennines area of outstanding natural beauty.

The old Chemical beach of Seaham harbour, so named for the period that the chemical works were situated on the cliffs above the beach. Once the chemical waste was piped directly into the Seaham and other waste was carried along the beach on small rail carts - now all that remains are the remnants of the tracks and some old wagon wheels in the sea.
