The Iron Tors - Brushed by the Light
The Iron Tors - Brushed by the Light
Wolfscote Dale - The Iron Tors Quite a long length of the border between Derbyshire and Staffordshire is identified by the course of the River Dove. As the river runs down along the border it passes through a series of limestone valleys or dales. When walking downstream the Iron Tors are hidden high above, in the woodland through which the riverside path meanders. When walking upstream, a commanding view of the Iron Tors can be seen. On this day of dramatic weather changes, as the rain clouds threatened a shaft of sunlight burst through and brushed the Iron Tors with light as the clouds chased overhead.
