Norwich Castle

Norwich Castle

Norwich Castle and entrance bridge that spans the moat. At the side of the bridge are pots of agapanthus. Norwich Castle was built on the order of William the Conqueror in the 11th century. The castle was used as a gaol from 1220 to 1887. In 1894 the Norwich Museum moved to Norwich Castle. The Castle is now a museum and art gallery. It holds significant objects from the region, especially archaeological finds and natural history specimens. The Castle is also a registry office and I have photographed many people getting married at this venue. Norwich Castle was awarded Grade I listed building status in 1954.
