Salmon Leap Falls, Teesdale

Salmon Leap Falls, Teesdale

A short way upstream from Low Force on the River Tees is this attractive cascade, known as Salmon Leap Falls. It is not visible from the Pannine Way footpath along the riverbank as it lies on the far side of spit of land which becomes an island unless the river is at normal levels. Taken in January 2020, winter brightness provides some foreground illumination under a meancing sky.
