The Andromeda Galaxy
The Andromeda Galaxy
Our nearest large galactic neighbour the Andromeda Galaxy, also known as Messier 31, M31, or NGC 224 and originally the Andromeda Nebula, is a spiral galaxy with a diameter of about 220000 light-years approximately 2.5 million light-years from Earth and contains about a trillion stars. These images are all my own work taken with my telescope and Astro camera from my backyard here in East Yorkshire. They represent many hours of imaging deep-space objects and then stacking and processing the images. The camera used is ASI2600MC Pro on RVO Horizon 72ED telescope mounted on a Skywatcher HEQ5 Pro mount.
