Beachy Head Lighthouse and Chalk Headlands East Sussex
Beachy Head Lighthouse and Chalk Headlands East Sussex
A view looking west along the South Downs Way towards Beachy Head in East Sussex. The white chalk cliffs of the Sussex coast offer some of the finest coastal scenery in the UK and are now part of the South Downs National Park. The South Downs Way is just one of many paths that offer plenty of hiking routes to explore the area. Beachy Head's lighthouse entered service in 1902 and was manually operated until 1983, it is now automatic.
