Buttermere is a lake in the Lake District in North West England, Cumbria. The adjacent village of Buttermere takes its name from the lake. The lake is 1.25 miles long by 0.25 miles wide, & is 75 feet deep. Its elevation above sea level is 329 feet & is situated towards the head of the valley of the River Cocker. It is surrounded by fells, notably the High Stile range to the south west, Robinson to the north-east, Fleetwith Pike & Haystacks to the south-east & Grasmoor to the north west.

Venice Canal

Venice is almost defined by its canals, with more than 150 waterways meandering through the city and traversed by over 400 bridges. Smaller canals crisscross the city and most originated as naturally occurring inlets and channels between the marshy islands of the Laguna Venezia. Buildings were initially constructed on pilings set into the layers of sand and clay and over time were fortified with stone and brick to create more permanent dwellings.

Across the harbour from Fowey, Polruan is an ancient mariner & shipbuilding community. Clinging to the hillside, & surrounded on three sides by water, the village is a maze of narrow streets alleys & flights of steps winding between the cottages, it is much loved as a community, a haven for yachts & also a tranquil holiday destination. With just a couple of pubs, a cafe & local shop.

Santa Maria della Salute, is a Roman Catholic church & minor basilica located at Punta della Dogana in the Dorsoduro sestiere of the city of Venice, Italy. It stands on the narrow finger of Punta della Dogana, between the Grand Canal & the Giudecca Canal, at the Bacino di San Marco, making the church visible when entering the Piazza San Marco from the water. The Salute is part of the parish of the Gesuati and is the most recent of the so-called plague churches.

Fingle Bridge is a 17th-century stone arch bridge carrying an unclassified road over the River Teign near Drewsteignton, within Dartmoor National Park in Devon England. Styled The Pearl of Dorset, it lies at Lyme Bay on the English Channel coast at the Dorset–Devon border. It is noted for fossils found in cliffs & beaches on the Heritage Coast or Jurassic Coast. The harbour wall known as The Cobb appears in Jane Austen's novel Persuasion, in the John Fowles novel The French Lieutenant's woman.

A changeable afternoon, at the Cheesewring formations, on the eastern side of Bodmin moor, Cornwall. This time standing on top of one of the granite formations. The Cheesewring is a granite tor, a natural geological formation. The name derives from the resemblance of the piled slabs to a cheesewring, a press device that was once used to make cheese.

Autumn on the River Tamar, Devon. The Tamar, is a river in south west England, that forms most of the border between Devon and Cornwall. The Tamar's source is less than 3.7 miles from the north Cornish coast, but it flows southward for 61 miles to Plymouth Sound. This Image is taken on Transparency Film, on a Bronica SQA, hence there is, of course slight fine film grain.

After coming out of Victoria Station in London, I notice the Nova building, towering above the beautiful building on the right. I liked the juxtaposition of these three buildings with the compressed perspective of a telephoto lense. The Nova occupies an entire block, comprises of two office buildings, designed by PLP Architecture and a residential building by Benson & Forsyth. It was voted Carbuncle of the year 2017, a worthy title in my mind, although. it is strangely intriguing to look at and an assault on the senses at the same time.. The Pigeon was an added bonus, and luckily captured at the right time.

Derwent Water, is one of the principal bodies of water in the Lake District National Park, Cumbria., north west England. The lake occupies part of Borrowdale and lies immediately south of the town of Keswick. It is both fed and drained by the River Derwent. The Lake approximately 3 miles long by 1 mile wide & is some 72 feet deep. There are several islands within the lake, one of which is inhabited. The lake is just a short walk from Keswick town along well maintained footpaths. The most popular way to enjoy the beauty of the lake, other than by walking the paths around its shores, is to board one of the Keswick Launches which operate round the lake. The main boat landings are just a 10 minutes walk from the centre of Keswick town.

Inside the driver's compartment of the steam train, called Braveheart, 75014 BR Standard Class 4-6.0. Built in December 1951 in Swindon. Withdrawn by British Railways in 1966. When it was sent for scrap. It rotted in Barry scrap yard for 14 years, was bought as a wreck in 1981, by a 4 man syndicate based on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. They bought it back to steam in 1994 & they sold it in 2002 to Dartmouth Steam Railway & River Boat Company.

Looking over the river Duddon, towards Black Beck and Hinning house, Seathwaite, a grey wet afternoonn, but still so beautiful. The Duddon river rises at a point 1,289 feet above sea level near the Three Shire Stone at the highest point of Wrynose Pass. The river descends to the sea over a course of about 15 miles before entering the Irish Sea at the Duddon Sands.
