In recent years, I have been pleased to have my photography winning multiple peer and public awards in international competitions. Submitting entries for these was never part of the plan, but having been invited and encouraged to do so, it is gratifying that the work has been so well received.
Resident in Vancouver, Canada but born and raised in UK, educated as an architect and engineer, my inquiring mind lead me to photography a very long time ago. I photograph what draws my eye, wherever I happen to be (a wide variety of things and places) and have a deep interest in place, texture, space, materials, restoration of beautiful old images of things rarely seen today.

Mexico. Hacienda Mucuyche ruins, Merida, Yucatan
The 17th Century Mucuyche Hacienda, once a very ornate and wealthy hacienda now lies in ruins beside the Mucuyche Cenote. The major enterprise of the Hacienda was making jute and there are signs of the somewhat more modern machine rooms still in place. The development of plastics to make ropes killed the jute industry all across Mexico and many grand Haciendas were abandoned and wealthy families moved on/
Mexico. Izamal, Yucatan. The Golden City
Izamal was built on top of and inside a Mayan site with two pyramids One pyramid remains in overgrown and poor condition in the middle of the town. The other was raised and levelled by the Catholic Spanish in the mid 1500s and the Convent of San Antonio of Padua built on the level platform with an enclosed atrium second only to that in the Vatican City. The Pope has visited the town and it was said to be painted in the yellow gold colours to honour the Papal flag.s
Military & Associated Aviation Badges
The design of pilot and aircrew badges used by military aviators since the inception of military aviation early in the 1900s is astounding, representing art and craft as well as national symbology. In some countries the designs have remained relatively constant while in others changes of government has remained a trigger of change in design. Please note that the inclusion of the designs of rogue states or oppressive regimes does not indicate support of those states or regimes, only indicating designs used in certain periods of history. No offence is intended or offered to anyone.
Rocks in Water
Rocks. Solid, hard, seemingly permanent Water. Fluid, soft, ever changing Yet while rocks can direct water, the fluid motion of water will erode rocks massively, turning them back to dust, forming them to their flow. Water on rocks makes music for the soul, pounding or gently tinkling as they make contact. The play of light reflecting from water moving over and around rocks pleases the eye To the touch, hard and soft, yet beautiful partners
